One of our favorite (and most popular!) renovations to date, this renovation in the Beaches is a show-stopper! As often requested, we removed the existing walls dividing the kitchen from the dining room to create an open concept space. To maintain storage, we kept the existing closet at the front entryway but kicked it up a notch with custom oak paneling and a built in bank of drawers at the end of the closet. We worked off of the natural brick to chose the warm wood tone for the paneling that we carried onto the staircase topped with glass panes for the railing. Hidden storage below the stairs and a compact powder room finish off this area.

To add drama, we chose honed black slate to clad the linear fireplace surround in the living room which is picked up in the dark kitchen cabinetry. We were able to maximize the kitchen cabinets so well that the client was comfortable eliminating upper cabinets on the stove wall allowing our slab backsplash and range hood shine! Classic brass accents in the lighting, hardware and plumbing fixtures add an elegant touch throughout.

We carried the brass accents up to the third floor ensuite we created out of forgotten space. Mostly white with a pop of moody blue tiles keep this angled room feeling bright, yet interesting. Custom, his and hers vanities and a separate water closet help divide the space for multiple users.

Jam packed with function yet still uncluttered with clean lines make this a favourite of ours and many others! So much so that when the clients decided to sell, buyers who lost out in the bidding war, have contacted us to help renovate other, older homes instead, to recreate a similar aesthetic and function!
