After moving from Calgary to Toronto to be closer to their adult children, our clients bought a recently renovated home that was missing two key features for their lifestyle: a proper soaking bathtub and second-floor laundry. By giving up a spare bedroom, we created a spacious laundry room and expanded the family bath.
Inspired by nature, the design takes an elevated approach to modern farmhouse style. The ethereal laundry room welcomes you inside through a wood pocket door with ribbed glass, revealing a forest mural and sage cabinetry. Brass details and matte black quartz counters adds a sophisticated note. Clever storage, including pull-out hampers, an ironing station, and space to hang-dry clothing, makes it the laundry room they always dreamed of.
In the family bath, a custom green and blue floral shower curtain was the jumping-off point for the design. It encloses a wet room with a freestanding tub that doubles as a shower. The pièce de résistance is the marble mosaic floor, while a white oak vanity and brass fixtures warm up the white walls. Project Durie proves that sometimes the smallest renovations have the biggest impact.
CLIENTS TESTIMONIAL
Our project was relatively small compared to others in the Two Birds portfolio, but we never felt as if it was a lesser priority.
This lovely group of women always listened to our questions or concerns, were extremely knowledgeable, and their attention to detail was outstanding.
We would highly recommend Two Birds to everyone thinking of making changes to their homes.
