We were honoured to collaborate on this project with Lisa Robazza Design and are thrilled with the results. Our young family of three was looking to convert the main floor of their Toronto home into a more open concept space including a living area, powder room, dining area and kitchen.

As with most families, maximizing storage and function was paramount while not feeling too cluttered or congested.

We planned a two-sided fireplace in between the living room and dining area to create partial separation while being a very unique feature. Within the drywall surround is also a small coat closet much needed for day to day use. A built-in banquette abutting the kitchen island also creates a specific dining area without encroaching too much on the surrounding areas. Custom cabinetry along the dining room wall house a broom closet and concealed desk area while acting as a sideboard too. The finishes match the adjacent kitchen cabinets to ensure a cohesive look throughout. New placement of the enlarged doors and window invite natural light to flood the space. Wood accents are set against bright white cabinets, a neutral mosaic and quartz counter to introduce texture and warmth while still feeling bright and airy. A long accent wall of navy and hits of ochre, black and white help create a dynamic and fun space jam packed with personality. Much like our clients!

“It was an absolute pleasure working with Renee and Two Birds on our main floor renovation.  They handled everything for us, which really eliminated our stress and anxiety.  They were always available to answer our questions and really walked us through the entire process from start to finish.  They were everything we needed them to be and more.  Plus the completed project far exceeded our expectations. We recommend them highly.  If you hire Two Birds for your project, you will be glad you did, and won’t be disappointed.”
